Pro-active involvement

SanLo Psych Society
A.Y. 2021-2022

The SPS started with the desire to mobilize the young Ruizians for them to have an avenue where they can get involved and be part of something greater than themselves while also having a safe environment where they can be who they are in pursuit of God's purpose in their lives. Running for ten years, the organization is awarded for achieving extraordinary service for its contribution and efforts to the SanLo community while being pro-actively involved in multiple departamental projects such as the 3-day film festival entitled “Persons with Digitabilities International Virtual Film Festival” in collaboration with The Lovelife Project for Health & Environment Inc., taking part in one of CDSL’s Online Tambayan episodes, an outreach program called “The Ruizian Relief” that focuses on assisting the children of the Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC), and the CDSL Glow-Up Program which offers 90-day timeline routines that are made sure to help the Ruizians academically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.Furthermore, the SPS created distinct platforms for the students to exercise and maximize learning opportunities through virtual seminars such as the webinar series titled “Counseling 101: Peer Brave & Psych Talk Series” in collaboration with the Office of Guidance and Counseling and CDSL Peer Counselors which served as a medium to open awareness about the nature, benefits, and effective strategies for our distresses. In celebration of the Mental Health Month, the SPS also conducted the “Pagod Na ‘Ko: Managing Burnout” webinar that aims to educate the viewers about burnout and its effect on students' academic performance and personal life and the “Ano Ang Love Language Mo?: A Webinar About Love Language” that defines and educates the viewers about the five (5) known love languages and their importance in terms of interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships and many more. Finally, the Psychology Department brought back the crown as one of the organization’s members became the current title holder for the Ms. SanLo 2022.
